| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Reymundo Barrera has been presented with a Key |

| 6 | 7 | | Spouse Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the |

| 9 | 10 | | university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |

| 10 | 11 | | initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |

| 11 | 12 | | resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | students; in receiving a Key Spouse Award, Mr. Barrera was |

| 13 | 14 | | recognized for going above and beyond in his efforts to support his |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | wife, Jessica Barrera, who currently serves as treasurer of the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | organization; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, An alumnus of Del Mar College, Mr. Barrera has |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | devoted himself to the care of the couple's family, which includes |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | seven children and two grandchildren, thereby enabling his wife to |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | pursue her educational goals; he has also volunteered alongside his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | wife at many of the TRIO Islanders community service projects and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | helped out during organizational meetings; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Reymundo Barrera has generously contributed to the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | worthwhile mission of the TRIO Islanders Organization, and he is |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Reymundo Barrera on his receipt of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | a Key Spouse Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | future; and, be it further |
