| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Kay Garcia McAnally is concluding a remarkable |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 2009, Ms. McAnally has |

| 8 | 9 | | demonstrated an exceptional commitment to addressing the needs and |

| 9 | 10 | | concerns of her constituents throughout her two terms with the |

| 10 | 11 | | council; she was instrumental in the creation of the Bastrop Good |

| 11 | 12 | | Neighbor Fund, an emergency assistance program that covers utility |

| 12 | 13 | | costs for vulnerable residents, and she played a vital role in the |

| 13 | 14 | | construction of a handicap walkway to connect the Bastrop Public |

| 14 | 15 | | Library to nearby recreational facilities; furthermore, she |

| 15 | 16 | | spearheaded efforts to have computers donated to the city and its |

| 21 | 22 | | Bastrop Vision Task Force, the Bastrop Historic Chicken Sanctuary, |

| 22 | 23 | | and the Bastrop Art in Public Places program, which has transformed |

| 24 | 25 | | art pieces; to commemorate the contribution that area Mexican |

| 25 | 26 | | Americans made to the fight for equal education in Texas, she worked |
