H.R. No. 2108
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the Sigma chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu
at The University of Texas at Austin have distinguished themselves
through their admirable commitment to community service; and
WHEREAS, The only professional coed fraternity of its kind in
the nation, Delta Epsilon Mu is open to undergraduate students
majoring in a pre-health field, including medicine, dentistry,
nursing, psychology, and veterinary medicine; the UT chapter was
founded in 2013, and its members are committed to upholding the
organization's founding principles of dedication, loyalty,
friendship, and support by participating in numerous service
projects; and
WHEREAS, This notable group regularly takes part in
activities that help promote health care and education, and its
membership has greatly contributed to such worthwhile initiatives
as the Micah 6 food pantry, Reading Aces, 20/20/20, and the Feed My
People program of the Foundation for the Homeless; and
WHEREAS, The members of Delta Epsilon Mu have come together
in fellowship not only to further prepare themselves for their
professional careers but also to promote a higher standard of civic
leadership and concern for others among those entering a
health-related field; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the Sigma chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu at
The University of Texas at Austin for its outstanding efforts in
behalf of the local community and extend to its members sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the fraternity as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
