| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jim Cahill retired from the Garland City Council in |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A tax accounting manager at Texas Instruments, Jim |

| 9 | 10 | | Cahill was first elected to the council in 2011; over the course of |

| 10 | 11 | | his tenure in office, he demonstrated an exceptional commitment to |

| 11 | 12 | | addressing the concerns of his constituents and played an important |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | role in a number of municipal projects; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his vital work on the city council, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Mr. Cahill has given generously of his time and talents as a member |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | of the Garland I-30 Tax Increment Financing board and as president |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | of the Creekside Village Homeowners Association; he has been active |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | in numerous local political campaigns as well and served as a party |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | precinct chair; he is also a valued congregant of Lavon Drive |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Cahill enjoys the love and |

| 21 | 22 | | support of his wife, Carol, with whom he has shared 30 years, and he |

| 22 | 23 | | takes great pride in their four children; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Public servants improve the quality of life for |

| 24 | 25 | | their fellow Texans in innumerable ways, and Jim Cahill has helped |

| 25 | 26 | | to make Garland an even better place in which to live and work; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Cahill on his retirement from |

| 29 | 30 | | the Garland City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
