| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Garland have greatly benefited from |

| 6 | 7 | | the dedicated service of Stephen W. Stanley, who stepped down after |

| 7 | 8 | | two terms on the Garland City Council in May 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Garland for more than 25 years, |

| 9 | 10 | | Mr. Stanley was elected to the council in May 2013; as a Realtor, he |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | has been active in the area's business and civic community for most |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | of his life, holding membership in local professional associations, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | athletic booster clubs, and other organizations; he previously |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | served on the city council of Sachse, where he resided for several |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | years, and on the board of directors of the Sachse Chamber of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Commerce; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Stanley enjoys the love |

| 17 | 18 | | and support of his wife, Daphne; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Stephen Stanley has rendered exemplary service to |

| 19 | 20 | | the city of Garland through his work on the city council, and his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | achievements have helped to make his community an even better place |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby honor Stephen W. Stanley on his retirement from |

| 24 | 25 | | the Garland City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
