| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Eddie Lee, the superintendent of Midland Christian |

| 6 | 7 | | School, received an honorary doctorate from Abilene Christian |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The university awards honorary doctorates to |

| 9 | 10 | | individuals who have exemplified leadership and service to the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | community throughout their lifetime; the 85th recipient of this |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | notable honor, Mr. Lee was recognized for shaping the lives of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | countless young Texans during his 42 years in education; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed administrator began his career in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | 1975, when he accepted a position at Midland Christian School; |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | after teaching math and science for five years, he was named the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | school's principal, and he went on to become superintendent in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 1985; over the course of his notable tenure, he has earned a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | reputation for going above and beyond the duties of his position; |
|---|

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lee holds a bachelor's degree from Lubbock |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Christian University and a master's degree from The University of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Texas of the Permian Basin; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love |

| 23 | 24 | | and support of his wife, Carol, and his son, Jared, who have both |

| 24 | 25 | | joined him in working at Midland Christian School; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Eddie Lee has exemplified the |

| 26 | 27 | | highest ideals of his profession, fostering a positive, faith-based |

| 27 | 28 | | environment for students while working to equip them with a sound |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | academic foundation on which to build, and he is indeed deserving of |

| 29 | 30 | | this most recent accolade; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Eddie Lee on his receipt of an |

| 32 | 33 | | honorary doctorate from Abilene Christian University and extend to |

| 33 | 34 | | him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important |
