| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A number of engaged citizens are working to build an |

| 7 | 8 | | participation in the 2017 Leadership Dallas Class; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Created in 1975 as a program of the Dallas Regional |

| 9 | 10 | | Chamber, Leadership Dallas serves to develop the potential of |

| 10 | 11 | | future leaders, identifying young businesspeople and entrepreneurs |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | of diverse backgrounds and bringing them together with current |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | leaders to explore issues critical to the community; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding, this outstanding program has |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | trained hundreds of participants in civic leadership; many of those |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | individuals have gone on to serve as members of community, city, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | county boards and commissions; in addition, the Leadership Dallas |

| 17 | 18 | | Alumni Association carries on the work of the program itself, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | offering opportunities for graduates to maintain strong |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | relationships with one another and providing educational programs |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | to help keep them abreast of issues facing the area; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, By working to complete the Leadership Dallas |

| 22 | 23 | | curriculum, the members of the Class of 2017 have demonstrated an |

| 23 | 24 | | admirable commitment to making a positive difference in the world |

| 24 | 25 | | around them, and they are indeed deserving of special recognition; |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
