H.R. No. 2269
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Paola Pina has ably served her fellow Texans as an
intern in the office of State Representative Roland Gutierrez
during the 85th Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff as a Mexican American
Legislative Caucus Fellow, Ms. Pina has provided vital assistance
in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to
gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has
learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing
citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Elva and Felix Negron, Ms. Pina is a
member of the graduating Class of 2017 at The University of Texas at
Austin, where she has pursued a degree in government and Mexican
American studies; she has given back to her community by serving as
president of the UT-Austin student chapter of the Hispanic Women's
Network of Texas and as a mentor with Con Mi MADRE; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Paola Pina for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Roland
Gutierrez and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Pina as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
