| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Paola Pina has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff as a Mexican American |

| 9 | 10 | | Legislative Caucus Fellow, Ms. Pina has provided vital assistance |

| 10 | 11 | | in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to |

| 11 | 12 | | gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has |

| 12 | 13 | | learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | citizens of the Lone Star State; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Elva and Felix Negron, Ms. Pina is a |

| 15 | 16 | | member of the graduating Class of 2017 at The University of Texas at |

| 16 | 17 | | Austin, where she has pursued a degree in government and Mexican |

| 17 | 18 | | American studies; she has given back to her community by serving as |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | president of the UT-Austin student chapter of the Hispanic Women's |

| 19 | 20 | | Network of Texas and as a mentor with Con Mi MADRE; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 21 | 22 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 22 | 23 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
