| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Martin and Manuela Rios, Terry |

| 9 | 10 | | Rios-Vera was a native of Corpus Christi, where she graduated from |

| 10 | 11 | | Roy Miller High School and studied library science at Del Mar |

| 11 | 12 | | College; she married Martin G. Vera, and the couple were blessed |

| 12 | 13 | | with two children, Dr. Nancy Vera and Roger Vera, whose education |

| 13 | 14 | | Mrs. Rios-Vera prioritized above all else; their fine family later |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grew to include a daughter-in-law, Emma, and three grandchildren, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Aaron, Amy, and Simon; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rios-Vera enjoyed a rewarding 37-year career |

| 17 | 18 | | with the Corpus Christi Independent School District, from which she |

| 18 | 19 | | retired in 2003; during her tenure with CCISD, she established |

| 19 | 20 | | libraries at Travis and Menger Elementary Schools, and she worked |

| 20 | 21 | | as a library and media specialist at Roy Miller High School; she was |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | also an avid reader and an exceptional musician; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Admired for her strength, wisdom, and joyful spirit, |

| 23 | 24 | | Terry Rios-Vera will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of |

| 24 | 25 | | her friends and loved ones; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maria Teresa |

| 27 | 28 | | Rios-Vera and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn her |
