45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Michelle McGaha has been presented with an
67 Outstanding Award from the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M
78 University--Corpus Christi; and
89 WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the
910 university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
1011 initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
1112 resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
1213 students; in receiving an Outstanding Award, Ms. McGaha was
1314 recognized for her record of academic excellence within the
1415 program; and
1516 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. McGaha is majoring in
1617 biomedical science, and she also serves as the events coordinator
1718 for the TAMU--CC SACNAS chapter; after graduating, she plans to
1819 continue her studies at the University of Nebraska Omaha and work
1920 toward a doctorate in clinical laboratory sciences; and
2021 WHEREAS, Michelle McGaha is indeed deserving of this
2122 prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
2223 promise; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Michelle McGaha on her receipt of a
2526 McNair Scholars Program Outstanding Award and extend to her sincere
2627 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Ms. McGaha as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2930 House of Representatives.
