R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Buckner Family Hope Center at Aldine celebrated
its 27th anniversary on April 27, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Sylvia Bolling as Aldine YOUTH in 1990,
the facility adopted its current name in 2012 after partnering with
Buckner International, a global ministry focused on strengthening
families, assisting children, and helping seniors to enjoy an
improved quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Buckner Family Hope Center offers more
than 20 programs that provide individuals in need with critical
services and aid, including case management, family counseling,
food and clothing, job training, and after-school and summer youth
initiatives; and
WHEREAS, For more than a quarter century, the Buckner Family
Hope Center at Aldine has made a positive difference in the lives of
countless Houston-area residents, and this worthwhile organization
is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 27th anniversary of the Buckner
Family Hope Center at Aldine and extend to all those associated with
the facility sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
