 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents of Hutchinson County are gathering on June
 1, 2017, to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new unit at
 the Agrium fertilizer plant in Borger; and
 WHEREAS, Agrium is a major international manufacturer of
 agricultural products; before this recent expansion, the company's
 facility in Borger employed nearly 100 area workers and produced 20
 percent of the annual North American output of anhydrous ammonia,
 as well as 109,000 tons of urea each year; and
 WHEREAS, Completed in January 2017, the $720 million
 expansion project will enable the plant to increase the production
 of urea by 610,000 metric tons, 100,000 metric tons of which will be
 diesel exhaust fluid--grade urea, which is used to reduce nitrogen
 oxide emissions in diesel vehicles; the project also increases the
 plant's annual gross ammonia production capacity to 635,000 metric
 tons; and
 WHEREAS, The expansion of Agrium's Borger facility was made
 possible through an outstanding joint effort by the Borger Economic
 Development Corporation, the City of Borger, the Borger Independent
 School District, and the Borger Chamber of Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, By creating new jobs and strengthening the economic
 environment of Borger and Hutchinson County, the Agrium facility
 continues to play a vital role in the prosperity of the surrounding
 community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the
 new unit at the Agrium plant in Borger and extend to the company's
 officers, employees, and guests sincere best wishes for a
 meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for the plant as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
 Representatives.
