| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Hutchinson County are gathering on June |

| 6 | 7 | | 1, 2017, to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new unit at |

| 7 | 8 | | the Agrium fertilizer plant in Borger; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Agrium is a major international manufacturer of |

| 9 | 10 | | agricultural products; before this recent expansion, the company's |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | facility in Borger employed nearly 100 area workers and produced 20 |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | percent of the annual North American output of anhydrous ammonia, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | as well as 109,000 tons of urea each year; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Completed in January 2017, the $720 million |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | expansion project will enable the plant to increase the production |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | of urea by 610,000 metric tons, 100,000 metric tons of which will be |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | diesel exhaust fluid--grade urea, which is used to reduce nitrogen |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | oxide emissions in diesel vehicles; the project also increases the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | plant's annual gross ammonia production capacity to 635,000 metric |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | tons; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The expansion of Agrium's Borger facility was made |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | possible through an outstanding joint effort by the Borger Economic |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Development Corporation, the City of Borger, the Borger Independent |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | School District, and the Borger Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, By creating new jobs and strengthening the economic |

| 25 | 26 | | environment of Borger and Hutchinson County, the Agrium facility |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | continues to play a vital role in the prosperity of the surrounding |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | community; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | new unit at the Agrium plant in Borger and extend to the company's |

| 31 | 32 | | officers, employees, and guests sincere best wishes for a |

| 32 | 33 | | meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further |
