| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of John Ray Baldree of Corpus Christi on January 13, 2017, |

| 7 | 8 | | at the age of 68; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, John Baldree was born in Corpus Christi to Jim and |

| 9 | 10 | | Juanita Baldree on October 2, 1948; a successful businessman and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | entrepreneur, he founded a construction firm, Progressive |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Structures, in 1980 and led the company for 36 years; Mr. Baldree |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | was a proud member of Associated Builders and Contractors for over |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | three decades and served multiple times as a board member, as well |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | as four terms as president; he was also a longtime member of the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Corpus Christi Executives Association, and he was involved in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | numerous civic and volunteer activities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Baldree was blessed with |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the love and support of his best friend and wife of 34 years, Ann |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Marie; they raised five children, Kevin, Craig, Scott, Justin, and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Rachel, and over the years, their family continued to grow with the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | addition of nine grandchildren; Mr. Baldree enjoyed traveling |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | around the world with his wife and was also an avid golfer in his |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | leisure time; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family and his community, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | John Baldree gave generously of himself and will long be remembered |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | with respect and admiration by all who were privileged to know him; |

| 27 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of John Ray Baldree and |
