| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, One such educator is Cathy Ownby, an 11th- and |

| 10 | 11 | | 12th-grade Ready, Set, Teach instructor at Juan Seguin High School, |

| 11 | 12 | | who has demonstrated her commitment to her students by achieving a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | perfect record of attendance for the 2016-2017 academic year; this |

| 13 | 14 | | is her second consecutive year to post such a record; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, During the 18 years that Ms. Ownby has taught at |

| 15 | 16 | | Seguin High, she has worked tirelessly to equip her pupils with the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | knowledge and skills that will enable them to become responsible |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and productive citizens; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of our |

| 19 | 20 | | future leaders is an undertaking of paramount importance, and Cathy |

| 20 | 21 | | Ownby embodies the spirit of service and dedication that are the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | hallmarks of a good teacher; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby commend Cathy Ownby on her perfect attendance |

| 24 | 25 | | during the 2016-2017 school year and extend to her sincere best |
