45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans
67 have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the
78 development of our young people are helping to ensure that the
89 future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and
910 WHEREAS, One such educator is Marla Wilkins, a 9th- through
1011 12th-grade science teacher at Juan Seguin High School, who has
1112 demonstrated her commitment to her students by achieving a perfect
1213 record of attendance for the 2016-2017 academic year; this is her
1314 second consecutive year to post such a record; and
1415 WHEREAS, During the 12 years that Ms. Wilkins has taught at
1516 Seguin High, she has worked tirelessly to equip her pupils with the
1617 knowledge and skills that will enable them to become responsible
1718 and productive citizens; and
1819 WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of our
1920 future leaders is an undertaking of paramount importance, and Marla
2021 Wilkins embodies the spirit of service and dedication that are the
2122 hallmarks of a good teacher; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby commend Marla Wilkins on her perfect attendance
2425 during the 2016-2017 school year and extend to her sincere best
2526 wishes for the future; and, be it further
