| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |

| 8 | 9 | | future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, One such educator is Marla Wilkins, a 9th- through |

| 10 | 11 | | 12th-grade science teacher at Juan Seguin High School, who has |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | demonstrated her commitment to her students by achieving a perfect |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | record of attendance for the 2016-2017 academic year; this is her |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | second consecutive year to post such a record; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, During the 12 years that Ms. Wilkins has taught at |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Seguin High, she has worked tirelessly to equip her pupils with the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | knowledge and skills that will enable them to become responsible |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and productive citizens; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of our |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | future leaders is an undertaking of paramount importance, and Marla |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Wilkins embodies the spirit of service and dedication that are the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | hallmarks of a good teacher; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby commend Marla Wilkins on her perfect attendance |

| 24 | 25 | | during the 2016-2017 school year and extend to her sincere best |

| 25 | 26 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
