 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Reverend Christopher L. Taylor is being honored
 on June 4, 2017, for his 25 years of dedicated service as the pastor
 of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie; and
 WHEREAS, After becoming pastor in 1992, Reverend Taylor led
 the effort to build a new, 14,000-square-foot sanctuary; he also
 helped found the Star Group Community Development Corporation, and,
 collaborating with the City of Grand Prairie and the Grand Prairie
 Police Department, he was instrumental in establishing the
 nonprofit CDC's STARS Re-entry Program, in which he remains
 actively involved, personally attending each meeting to offer
 additional support to program participants; and
 WHEREAS, Reverend Taylor has further benefited his fellow
 Texans by working with at-risk youth as a behavior specialist in the
 local elementary schools, and he has been a stalwart advocate for
 the residents of Grand Prairie's Dalworth community; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his notable tenure, Reverend Taylor has
 wholeheartedly committed himself to advancing the goals of Morning
 Star Missionary Baptist Church, and his leadership has provided
 valued inspiration and guidance to countless individuals over the
 past quarter century; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Christopher L. Taylor
 on the joyous occasion of his 25th anniversary with Morning Star
 Missionary Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 continued success with his important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Reverend Taylor as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
