| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Hira Saleem has ably served her fellow Texans as a |

| 7 | 8 | | during the 85th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Saleem has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |

| 11 | 12 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A senior at The University of Texas at Dallas, |

| 14 | 15 | | Ms. Saleem is pursuing a double major in finance and |

| 15 | 16 | | entrepreneurship, and she has attained a number of honors and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | awards, including the Academic Excellence and Dean's Scholarships; |

| 17 | 18 | | she has also participated in the Professional Program in Finance, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Alternative Spring Break, and an International Undergraduate Study |

| 19 | 20 | | Program in Germany; she has previously completed internships with |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Textron Specialized Vehicles and Bell Helicopter, and following the |

| 21 | 22 | | legislative session, she will intern at Comcast's global |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | headquarters in Philadelphia; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 24 | 25 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Hira Saleem for her service as a |
