No. 2377 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Bailey Schumm has ably served her fellow citizens as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez during the 85th Texas Legislature; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Schumm has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, including performing casework and logging constituent feedback, researching and tracking legislation, preparing floor briefs, and meeting with advocacy groups; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, A junior at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Schumm is majoring in public health and aspires to attain a master's degree in the same field; her academic achievements have earned her the title of Distinguished College Scholar in the College of Natural Sciences, and she is the recipient of an Archer Fellowship, which will enable her to travel to Washington, D.C., to further her studies and her professional experience; during her time at UT, she has also served as president of the University Democrats; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby commend Bailey Schumm for her service as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Schumm as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
