| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Bailey Schumm has ably served her fellow citizens as |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Schumm has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | including performing casework and logging constituent feedback, |

| 11 | 12 | | researching and tracking legislation, preparing floor briefs, and |

| 12 | 13 | | meeting with advocacy groups; in addition to gaining valuable |

| 13 | 14 | | experience in the field of public service, she has learned more |

| 14 | 15 | | about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A junior at The University of Texas at Austin, |

| 17 | 18 | | Ms. Schumm is majoring in public health and aspires to attain a |

| 18 | 19 | | master's degree in the same field; her academic achievements have |

| 19 | 20 | | earned her the title of Distinguished College Scholar in the |

| 20 | 21 | | College of Natural Sciences, and she is the recipient of an Archer |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Fellowship, which will enable her to travel to Washington, D.C., to |

| 22 | 23 | | further her studies and her professional experience; during her |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | time at UT, she has also served as president of the University |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Democrats; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 26 | 27 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 27 | 28 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
