| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Carlos Dinkel has ably served his fellow Texans as a |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Dinkel has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | including meeting with advocacy groups, tracking legislation, and |

| 11 | 12 | | attending policy meetings, and he has become particularly well |

| 12 | 13 | | versed in voting and immigrant rights; in addition to gaining |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned |

| 14 | 15 | | more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |

| 15 | 16 | | of the Lone Star State; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, An international relations major at The University |

| 17 | 18 | | of Texas at Austin, Mr. Dinkel will spend this summer and fall |

| 18 | 19 | | studying international security at Sciences Po in Paris; following |

| 19 | 20 | | his graduation, he plans to pursue a career in foreign affairs with |

| 20 | 21 | | a focus on national security; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |

| 22 | 23 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 23 | 24 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
