R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jovahana Avila has ably served her fellow Texans as
an aide in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez
during the 85th Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Avila has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Avila will soon be a junior at St. Edward's
University, where she is triple majoring in political science,
English writing and rhetoric, and digital media, and she has served
the campus community as a residential advisor; moreover, she has
been named a Public Policy Fellow by the Congressional Hispanic
Caucus Institute, and as part of that program, she will be traveling
to Washington, D.C., where she will gain further experience and
insights into the realm of public policy at the Environmental
Protection Agency; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Jovahana Avila for her service as a
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie
Rodriguez and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Avila as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
