| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jovahana Avila has ably served her fellow Texans as |

| 6 | 7 | | an aide in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez |

| 7 | 8 | | during the 85th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Avila has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |

| 11 | 12 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Avila will soon be a junior at St. Edward's |

| 14 | 15 | | University, where she is triple majoring in political science, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | English writing and rhetoric, and digital media, and she has served |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the campus community as a residential advisor; moreover, she has |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | been named a Public Policy Fellow by the Congressional Hispanic |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Caucus Institute, and as part of that program, she will be traveling |

| 19 | 20 | | to Washington, D.C., where she will gain further experience and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | insights into the realm of public policy at the Environmental |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Protection Agency; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 23 | 24 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
