 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal
 milestones, and Elijah Escamilla is celebrating that significant
 achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High
 School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Escamilla is among the students who have
 completed their secondary education in the academy's Advanced
 Academics Program, which features specialized curricula focused on
 law, government, and public administration; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Obed Escamilla and Leticia Escamilla,
 Mr. Escamilla ranks in the top 10 percent of his class and is a
 member of both the National Honor Society and the National
 Technical Honor Society; he has further distinguished himself as a
 student-athlete, and in addition to running track, he played on the
 football team, helping lead the Trailblazers to district and
 bi-district championships and earning second team all-district
 honors; after graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University
 and to pursue a career as an officer in the military; and
 WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
 outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and
 friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with
 promise; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Elijah Escamilla on the occasion of
 his graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
 happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Escamilla as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
