| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of David |

| 6 | 7 | | Earl LaRue of Midlothian, who passed away on May 8, 2017, at the age |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Elvis and Linnie LaRue, David LaRue was |

| 9 | 10 | | born on September 11, 1939, in Dallas County; he grew up in the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | company of three siblings, Danna, Marsha, and Lavon, and attended |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Midlothian High School, where he earned his diploma in 1959; he went |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | on to work for General Motors in Arlington, enjoying a successful |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | career that spanned three decades, until his retirement in 1995; |

| 14 | 15 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. LaRue became a Master |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Mason in 1985 and joined Midlothian Masonic Lodge No. 584; he was a |

| 17 | 18 | | founding member of the Cowboy Church of Ellis County and played the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | fiddle for several years as part of the original Cowboy Church Band; |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, On July 8, 1960, Mr. LaRue married the former Gwen |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Curts, with whom he shared more than half a century of love and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | companionship; he was the proud father of three sons, Alan, Todd, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | and Jeff, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | welcoming into his family seven grandchildren, Heather, Katy, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Mallory, Meredith, Justin, Jeremy, and Lash, and nine |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | great-grandchildren, Makayla, Kyler, Kyndal, Hunter, Allyson, |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Cayden, Jarrod, Mason, and Davis; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, David LaRue led a full and generous life, and those |

| 29 | 30 | | who were fortunate enough to know him will forever carry him close |

| 30 | 31 | | in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of David Earl LaRue and |

| 33 | 34 | | extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be it |
