 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Bella Rubio, the county and district clerk for Real
 County, retired on December 31, 2016, following an exemplary public
 service career that has spanned two decades; and
 WHEREAS, Born and raised in Texas, Bella Rubio is a
 third-generation resident of Real County; she was elected to the
 office of county and district clerk in November 1996, and she has
 additionally acted as elections administrator for the county; and
 WHEREAS, During her five terms in office, Ms. Rubio has
 demonstrated great dedication to Real County constituents and to
 her peers; she served as legislative committee chair of the County
 and District Clerks' Association of Texas, which named her the
 "Texas County Clerk of the Year" in 2015; moreover, she sat on the
 board of the Texas District Court Alliance, participated in several
 of the organization's committees, and served as a Region IV
 director; and
 WHEREAS, An engaged member of her community, Ms. Rubio has
 contributed her time and talents to many civic groups, including
 serving on the boards and committees of such organizations as the
 Eagle Booster Club, Real County Youth Development Board, and the
 Real County Livestock Association; she is also a valued congregant
 of Church in the Valley; in all her endeavors, she has enjoyed the
 love and support of her husband of 37 years, Pablo, her children,
 Lucus and Sarah, and her grandson, Jacob; and
 WHEREAS, Bella Rubio has earned the respect and admiration of
 her colleagues and fellow citizens, and she may indeed reflect with
 pride on her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Bella Rubio for her exceptional service
 as the county and district clerk of Real County and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Rubio as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
