| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Shirlane Wilkerson is retiring from the U.S. Social |

| 7 | 8 | | notable tenure that has spanned nearly a quarter century; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Orange, Shirlane Wilkerson graduated |

| 9 | 10 | | from Emma H. Wallace Junior-Senior High School in 1964; she |

| 10 | 11 | | subsequently answered her nation's call to duty as a member of the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | U.S. Marine Corps, and her three years of service included |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | assignments at Camp Pendleton in California and Camp H. M. Smith in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Hawaii; after returning to civilian life, she earned a bachelor's |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | degree in applied science from the University of California, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Berkeley; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Wilkerson gained many years of professional |

| 17 | 18 | | experience in a variety of fields, particularly the oil and gas |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | industry, before joining the U.S. Social Security Administration; |

| 19 | 20 | | over the decades, her exemplary efforts have garnered her the |

| 20 | 21 | | lasting respect and admiration of her colleagues; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Retirement will undoubtedly afford Ms. Wilkerson |

| 22 | 23 | | the opportunity to spend more time with her beloved family, |

| 23 | 24 | | including her husband of 27 years, Larry Wilkerson, and her son, |

| 24 | 25 | | Darral Watts, and she looks forward to traveling and living life to |

| 25 | 26 | | the fullest; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The dedication and professionalism demonstrated by |

| 27 | 28 | | Shirlane Wilkerson have greatly benefited her fellow citizens, and |
