| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hofmann retired as county commissioner for |

| 6 | 7 | | Precinct 1 of Mason County on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close |

| 7 | 8 | | a notable tenure in that office that spanned more than a decade and |

| 8 | 9 | | a half; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hofmann first joined the Mason County |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Commissioners Court in January 2001, and he served in office |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | continuously for the next 16 years; over the course of his tenure, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | this esteemed Texan worked tirelessly to address the needs of area |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | residents; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A native of Mason, Mr. Hofmann attended San Angelo |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | College on a football scholarship; while still in his teens, he also |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | joined the Army Reserve, where he rose to the rank of sergeant; he |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | went on to enjoy a successful four-decade-long career at the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Commercial Bank of Mason and ultimately retired as vice president; |

| 19 | 20 | | and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hofmann has enjoyed the |

| 21 | 22 | | support of a loving family that includes his wife of more than half |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | a century, Johanna, as well as their three children and eight |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his years on the commissioners court, |

| 25 | 26 | | Wayne Hofmann demonstrated skilled, knowledgeable leadership and a |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | deep concern for the public interest, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | pride on all that he has accomplished in behalf of his fellow |

| 28 | 29 | | citizens; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby commend Wayne Hofmann for his service as the |

| 31 | 32 | | Mason County commissioner for Precinct 1 and extend to him sincere |
