| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Toeppich retired as the Mason County |

| 6 | 7 | | Commissioner for Precinct 3 on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close |

| 7 | 8 | | more than a decade and a half of outstanding service; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Mason, Mr. Toeppich served |

| 9 | 10 | | his nation as a corporal in the U.S. Army, stationed in the Panama |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Canal Zone; he earned an agriculture degree at Texas A&M University |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | in 1959, and he began his career as an agriculture teacher in San |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Saba; in 1964, he embarked on a 26-year tenure with the USDA Soil |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Conservation Service, and throughout his working life, he has also |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | operated a ranch in Mason County; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Toeppich was first elected to the Mason County |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Commissioners Court in January 2001, and over the past 16 years, he |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | has served his fellow citizens with dedication; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Toeppich has enjoyed the |

| 19 | 20 | | love and support of his wife, Carolyn, as well as that of his three |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | children, and he takes great pride in his three grandchildren and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | three great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Toeppich's professionalism and commitment |

| 23 | 24 | | to public service have greatly benefited the people of Mason |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent |

| 25 | 26 | | as he looks forward to the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
