H.R. No. 2541
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The closing days of the 85th Regular Session offer
the opportunity to honor house parliamentarian and special counsel
Chris Griesel, whose dedication and expertise have once again
proven vital to the Texas House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, Appointed to the post in 2011, Mr. Griesel has ably
guided the speaker and members through the daily proceedings of the
legislative session and advised them on legal and parliamentary
options in a wide range of matters; he is aided in his duties by
deputy parliamentarian Shalla Sluyter, parliamentarian assistant
Trevor Rice, and parliamentary clerks Lay Wilburn, Lena Proft, and
Mia Pipkin; and
WHEREAS, Chris Griesel and his colleagues have demonstrated
the commitment to excellence and astute attention to detail that
are required by their duties, and they may indeed reflect with pride
on their fine work as another chapter of the legislature draws to a
close; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Chris Griesel and the staff of the House
Parliamentarian's Office for their significant contributions to
the legislative process and extend to them sincere best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Griesel and the office as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
