56 WHEREAS, Michael Glennon Rock is graduating as the
67 valedictorian of the senior class of Incarnate Word Academy High
78 School in 2017; and
89 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
910 intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the
1011 highest academic standards; Mr. Rock has demonstrated a thorough
1112 understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of
1213 this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable
1314 high school career; and
1415 WHEREAS, The son of Mike and Kathy Rock, Mr. Rock plans to
1516 continue his education at the University of Rhode Island, studying
1617 engineering; and
1718 WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Michael Glennon
1819 Rock has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and
1920 classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and
2021 commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
2122 opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be
2223 it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Glennon Rock,
2526 valedictorian of the Class of 2017 at Incarnate Word Academy High
2627 School, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
2728 as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it

2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Mr. Rock as an expression of high regard by the Texas
