| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Scott Brady of Humble was presented with the 2016 |

| 6 | 7 | | Haden McKay, M.D., Citizen of the Year Award by the Lake Houston |

| 7 | 8 | | Area Chamber of Commerce on January 20, 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given annually to local |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | residents who have performed selfless public service on their own |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | time rather than in the regular course of their professional lives; |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mr. Brady earned his bachelor's |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | degree in architecture from the University of Houston and has |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | worked as an architect for a quarter century; he is a partner with |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Joiner Architects and a member of many professional organizations, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | including the Association for Learning Environments, a nonprofit |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | that works to improve the academic performance of students through |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | study of the environments created by educational facilities; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Brady is also active with such community |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | organizations as the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County, the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Lake Houston Area and Greater East Montgomery Chambers of Commerce, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the Humble ISD Education Foundation, and the Lake Houston Family |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | YMCA; he served in 2015 and 2016 as chair of the Heart Walk, which |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | raises awareness about heart disease and stroke, and he has also |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | chaired the Humble High School Alumni Association Scholarship Golf |

| 26 | 27 | | Tournament; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Brady enjoys the love and |

| 28 | 29 | | support of a fine family that includes his wife, Tracy, and his |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | three daughters, Amber, Heather, and Jessica; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The selfless efforts of community leaders help make |

| 31 | 32 | | the Lone Star State an even better place in which to live, and |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | residents of the Lake Houston region are indeed fortunate to count |

| 33 | 34 | | Scott Brady among their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
