| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by |

| 6 | 7 | | the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Chief Steven "Eric" |

| 7 | 8 | | DiSario of Kirkersville, Ohio, who was killed in the line of duty on |

| 8 | 9 | | May 12, 2017, at the age of 38; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Eric DiSario was born in Salem, Ohio, on February 2, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | 1979, to Robin Walker and Thomas DiSario; he was educated in the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Washington Court House City Schools and distinguished himself as an |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Eagle Scout in his youth; he later earned a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | business technical management from DeVry University; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Prior to being appointed chief of the Kirkersville |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Police Department in 2017, this accomplished law enforcement |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | professional had worked as a deputy marshal with the Brice Police |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Department and as an auxiliary officer with the Millersport Police |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Department and the Lithopolis Police Department; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Chief DiSario shared a rewarding relationship with |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | his wife, Aryn; he was the devoted father of five children, Olivia, |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Braydon, Grace, Chloe, and Kameron, and was awaiting the arrival of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | another daughter, Lilliana; a man of strong faith, he regularly |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | attended services at St. Luke Lutheran Church with his family, and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | he was known for his ability to meet each day with a smile and for |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | the joy and enthusiasm he brought to all his endeavors; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Chief DiSario exemplified the highest ideals of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | public service, and although his death is a tragic loss to his |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | family and community, his legacy will be a continuing source of |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | inspiration to those who had the good fortune to know him; now, |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Chief Steven "Eric" |

| 33 | 34 | | DiSario and extend heartfelt condolences to all who mourn his |
