45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends continue to treasure their
67 memories of Brooks County deputy sheriff Ramiro Perez Jr., who was
78 killed in the line of duty on July 29, 1995; and
8- WHEREAS, On that day, Deputy Perez was leaving the scene of an
9- accident to respond to another call when his patrol car was struck
10- by a fire truck; he was 30 years old; and

1112 WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure with the sheriff's
1213 office, Deputy Perez earned the respect and admiration of his
1314 fellow officers with his skill, integrity, and dedication to duty;

1516 WHEREAS, This brave officer left behind to mourn his passing
1617 a wife, two daughters, and a son; his untimely death was a profound
1718 loss to his family, his comrades in uniform, and the entire
1819 community; and

2121 profession, embracing its demands for courage, selflessness, sound
2222 judgment, and unwavering composure, and those who were blessed to
2323 share in his love and affection will forever carry him close in
2424 their hearts; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Sheriff Ramiro
2727 Perez Jr.; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3030 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ramiro
