 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The annual Starr County Fair Association Cook-off
 takes place each year in Rio Grande City; and
 WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
 sanctioned state championship event, the cook-off features highly
 skilled teams putting their culinary talents to the test as they vie
 to produce the tastiest entries in several different categories;
 the occasion combines thrilling competition with good eating, and
 cash and other prizes are awarded to the top finishers in each
 category; and
 WHEREAS, The event is held in conjunction with the many other
 popular activities at the Starr County Fair, including a carnival,
 pageants, livestock shows, arts and crafts, and entertainment, and
 the Starr County Fair Association annually awards scholarships to
 graduating seniors from the area who distinguish themselves as
 exhibitors at the festival; and
 WHEREAS, The Starr County Fair Association Cook-off is a
 beloved community tradition that offers fun and excitement for
 individuals of all ages, and it promises to be a source of fond
 memories for countless residents and visitors; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize the Starr County Fair Association
 Cook-off and extend sincere best wishes to the event's organizers
 and participants for an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
