| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the FIRST in Texas Foundation, the |

| 10 | 11 | | FIRST Tech Challenge provides middle and high school students with |

| 11 | 12 | | opportunities to design, build, program, and operate robots while |

| 12 | 13 | | also developing important STEM skills; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After their impressive performance at the regional |

| 14 | 15 | | level, the students from Bushland High advanced to the state |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | tournament, where they earned third place in the preliminaries; |

| 16 | 17 | | they entered the semifinal and final rounds in an alliance with |

| 17 | 18 | | fellow Panhandle school Kelton STEAM Academy, and together the two |

| 18 | 19 | | teams dispatched their opponents, going undefeated in both sets of |

| 19 | 20 | | matches and claiming the championship title; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Benefiting from the able guidance of coaches Melissa |

| 21 | 22 | | Cochran and Kenny Miller, the Bushland High team received valuable |

| 22 | 23 | | contributions from the four members of its roster: Jack Smalligan, |

| 23 | 24 | | Hunter Miller, Mason Reed, and Justin Cochran; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the state contest, the |
