 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The members of the Klein High School academic team
 earned great distinction by winning the 6A state championship at
 the 2017 University Interscholastic League Academic State Meet; and
 WHEREAS, One of the most comprehensive literary and academic
 competitions in the nation, the UIL Academic State Meet includes 29
 high school events that complement the curriculum and allow
 students to demonstrate their knowledge and ability in a range of
 demanding disciplines; and
 WHEREAS, The Bearkats captured the 6A crown in decisive
 fashion, besting their closest opponents by 35 points; moreover,
 participants took home individual honors in a number of categories,
 including math, number sense, calculator applications, and the
 Barbara Jordan Historical Essay Competition; and
 WHEREAS, The members of this outstanding group include
 Jonathan Zhang, Thomas Ye, James Dong, Prenav Mahta, Akash Kumashi,
 Logan Baker, Rohan Robinson, Max Hall Brown, Victoria Brown,
 Miranda Montroy, Sydney Isika, Lipi Raval, Maryam Kahn, and Averii
 Le Malle II; and
 WHEREAS, The skill, hard work, and competitive spirit
 demonstrated by these students reflect Klein High's ongoing
 commitment to academic excellence, and they may take justifiable
 pride in their notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Klein High School academic team
 on winning the 6A title at the 2017 UIL Academic State Meet and
 extend to all those associated with the team sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
