| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and the Greater |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Providing an opportunity to salute those who have |

| 9 | 10 | | sacrificed so much in our nation's behalf, the Freedom Ball is a |

| 10 | 11 | | patriotic celebration honoring active duty service members, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | veterans, and Gold Star families; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Freedom Ball was originally organized by the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Greater Waco Aviation Alliance to help raise funds to support local |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | youth with dreams of working in the aviation industry; proceeds |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | from the event fund scholarships for Central Texas high school and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | college students who are pursuing careers in aviation and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | engineering; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, True to its tagline "Forever Grateful, Never |

| 19 | 20 | | Forgotten," the Freedom Ball pays tribute to those who have taken up |

| 20 | 21 | | the highest calling of all, that of honorable service to their |

| 21 | 22 | | nation, and it represents a fitting expression of respect and |

| 22 | 23 | | remembrance for these heroic men and women; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th annual Freedom Ball and |
