R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Weslyn Urquhart of Panhandle High School achieved
great distinction by winning the silver medal in the 2A girls'
triple jump at the 2017 University Interscholastic League Track &
Field State Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Ms. Urquhart turned in a
notable performance, recording a jump of 36 feet, 11 inches, to
claim second place in the event; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Weslyn Urquhart has ably
represented her school, and she will cherish her memories of this
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Weslyn Urquhart on winning a silver
medal in the 2A girls' triple jump at the 2017 UIL Track & Field
State Meet and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Urquhart as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
