| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Alliance of Information & Referral Systems |

| 7 | 8 | | February its members are visiting the Texas State Capitol; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This statewide association enjoys a diverse |

| 9 | 10 | | membership that includes community nonprofits, military and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | veteran service organizations, aging and disability resource |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | centers, crisis hotlines, libraries, and state agencies; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Together, these dedicated groups seek to provide |

| 13 | 14 | | Texans with early intervention and support in times of crisis by |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | simplifying access to health and human service providers; staffed |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | by professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the services |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | available in their communities, they empower individuals to make |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | informed choices and take appropriate action through an emphasis on |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | education, advocacy, and problem solving; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Incorporated in 1977, TAIRS plays a vital role in |

| 20 | 21 | | ensuring that those individuals and organizations involved in the |

| 21 | 22 | | Texas information and referral sector uphold clear and consistent |

| 22 | 23 | | professional standards; it also administers certification |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | examinations throughout the year and hosts an annual education and |

| 24 | 25 | | training conference, where workers learn how to better connect the |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | public with the resources they need; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The members of TAIRS work to affirm the dignity, |

| 27 | 28 | | self-worth, and independence of individuals across the Lone Star |

| 28 | 29 | | State, and they are indeed deserving of recognition on the occasion |

| 29 | 30 | | of this important milestone in the organization's history; now, |
