 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
 of Raul M. Hinojosa of San Isidro, who passed away on September 12,
 2016, at the age of 59; and
 WHEREAS, Born to Raul and Inez Hinojosa on May 11, 1957, in
 Rio Grande City, Raul Hinojosa grew up with his siblings, Rosie,
 Thalia, Cynthia, Ray Lino, Josie, and Griselda; he attended local
 schools and went on to graduate from Texas A&M
 University--Kingsville; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hinojosa enjoyed a successful career in
 education and taught at San Isidro High School for nearly three
 decades before retiring; he dedicated himself to ranching and
 agricultural pursuits throughout his life and supported his
 students through his role as an FFA sponsor, encouraging them to
 participate in livestock shows, pursue scholarship opportunities,
 and continue their studies; and
 WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Hinojosa served on the
 board of directors of the Starr County Youth Fair and as a
 fund-raising auctioneer for the Driscoll Children's Hospital; he
 was a man of deep faith and gave generously of his time and talents
 to the Knights of Columbus Padre Juan de la Costa Chapter No. 3919
 and to San Isidro Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic
 minister; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hinojosa married the former Viola Leal on July
 8, 1989, and the couple shared 27 years together; and
 WHEREAS, A true gentleman, Raul Hinojosa touched countless
 lives with his humor, wisdom, and commitment to his principles, and
 he will forever be a source of inspiration for those he has left
 behind; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Raul M. Hinojosa and
 extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Raul
 Hinojosa.
