R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Winter Wonderland Festival takes place each year
in Rio Grande City; and
WHEREAS, This annual winter extravaganza is a joyful
community tradition that features such events as a carnival, a
parade, an ice-skating rink, and a barbeque cook-off; and
WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
sanctioned state championship event, the Winter Wonderland
Festival BBQ Cook-Off features highly skilled pit masters putting
their talents to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest
entries in several different categories, along with great food and
spirited competition; and
WHEREAS, A fun-filled event for individuals of all ages, the
Winter Wonderland Festival is a popular celebration that is all the
more special for helping to brighten the holiday season for the
people in the local area; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize the Winter Wonderland Festival in Rio
Grande City and extend sincere best wishes to the event's
organizers and participants for an enjoyable and rewarding
experience.
