5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Agapito |

6 | 7 | | G. Hinojosa Sr. of Kingwood, who passed away on April 17, 2017, at |

7 | 8 | | the age of 82; and |
---|
8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Agapito Hinojosa was born in Beeville on May 31, |
---|
9 | 10 | | 1934, to Agapito D. Hinojosa and Blanche Cantu; after graduating |
---|
10 | 11 | | from Jefferson Davis High School, he earned his bachelor's and |
---|
11 | 12 | | master's degrees from the University of Houston; and |
---|
12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hinojosa and his wife, Jacqueline, were joined |
---|
13 | 14 | | in matrimony in 1958, and they shared a rewarding marriage that |
---|
14 | 15 | | spanned nearly six decades; he was a devoted father to his four |
---|
15 | 16 | | children, Tonya, Jacka, Pete, and Alicia, and later in life, he was |
---|
16 | 17 | | blessed with 13 grandchildren; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, For the first 13 years of his career, Mr. Hinojosa |
---|
18 | 19 | | taught math and science and served as a coach at several schools in |
---|
19 | 20 | | Houston, including Mt. Carmel High School, Edison Junior High, |
---|
20 | 21 | | McReynolds Junior High, and San Jacinto High School; he also taught |
---|
21 | 22 | | as an adjunct at North Harris Community College, and he went on to |
---|
22 | 23 | | work for AAA for 25 years before retiring; and |
---|
23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hinojosa was an active member of his community, |
---|
24 | 25 | | and he enjoyed gardening, coaching youth basketball and football |
---|
25 | 26 | | teams, and spending time with his family; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Agapito Hinojosa lived a caring and purposeful life, |
---|
27 | 28 | | and his loss is keenly felt by all who were touched by his affection |
---|
28 | 29 | | and friendship; now, therefore, be it |

29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Agapito G. Hinojosa |
