5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Gloria Caballero Vaello of Benavides on September 24, |

7 | 8 | | 2016, at the age of 91; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born to Amador and Susie Caballero on August 8, |
---|
9 | 10 | | 1925, in Benavides, the former Gloria Caballero was the eldest of |
---|
10 | 11 | | five children and readily volunteered to help care for her |
---|
11 | 12 | | brothers, Ricardo, Arnoldo, and Amador, and her sister, Alma; after |
---|
12 | 13 | | attending school in the Benavides Independent School District, she |
---|
13 | 14 | | went on to graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University and Texas |
---|
14 | 15 | | A&I University; she married Frank "Tite" Vaello in 1950, and |
---|
15 | 16 | | together they raised three children, Frank, Mary Ann, and Lee; over |
---|
16 | 17 | | the years, her treasured family grew to include eight grandchildren |
---|
17 | 18 | | and nine great-grandchildren; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong champion of education, Mrs. Vaello |
---|
19 | 20 | | enjoyed a career with Benavides ISD that spanned five decades; she |
---|
20 | 21 | | taught second-graders and high school students for many years |
---|
21 | 22 | | before becoming a high school guidance counselor, and throughout |
---|
22 | 23 | | her notable tenure, she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to |
---|
23 | 24 | | the well-being of her students; after retiring from the district, |
---|
24 | 25 | | she dedicated herself to securing a public library for her |
---|
25 | 26 | | hometown; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Gloria Vaello was deeply devoted to her family, her |

27 | 28 | | faith, and her community, and she will forever be remembered with |
---|
28 | 29 | | admiration and affection by all who held her close to their hearts; |
---|
29 | 30 | | now, therefore, be it |

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gloria Caballero |

32 | 33 | | Vaello and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: |

33 | 34 | | to her daughter, Mary Ann Belden, and her husband, Joe; to her son, |

34 | 35 | | Lee Vaello, and his wife, Elizabeth; to her daughter-in-law, Elda |
