| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born in Amarillo on November 9, 1985, Ryne Erickson |

| 10 | 11 | | was the son of Larry and Ruth Erickson; after graduating from |

| 11 | 12 | | Randall High School, he went on to earn a teaching degree in history |

| 12 | 13 | | from West Texas A&M University, and he was working on completing his |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | master's degree online from Norwich University at the time of his |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | passing; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Erickson served as head of the history |

| 16 | 17 | | department and assistant cross country coach for Dumas ISD, where |

| 17 | 18 | | he had been employed for nine years; he married a fellow teacher, |

| 18 | 19 | | the former Jamie Barnard, on June 28, 2014, and their relationship |

| 19 | 20 | | was a source of much happiness and fulfillment for him; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A man who consistently practiced his faith, |

| 21 | 22 | | Mr. Erickson was kind, patient, and encouraging to all; in his |

| 22 | 23 | | leisure time, he enjoyed having conversations about history and |

| 23 | 24 | | politics, playing strategy games, and following his two favorite |

| 24 | 25 | | teams, the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Cubs; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through the passion that he brought to his work and |

| 26 | 27 | | the warmth and optimism with which he lived, Ryne Erickson made an |

| 27 | 28 | | unforgettable impression on everyone who had the good fortune to |

| 28 | 29 | | know him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |
