R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Aggregates and Concrete
Association are gathering in Austin for their legislative day at
the State Capitol on February 14, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association was
created in 1974 when the Texas Ready Mixed Concrete Association and
the Texas Aggregates Association merged; and
WHEREAS, In the years since, TACA has grown to represent more
than 200 member companies throughout Texas, including the great
majority of the state's concrete businesses, cement companies, and
aggregates firms; and
WHEREAS, Aggregates, concrete, cement, and related
industries generate billions of dollars in business and employ
thousands of Texans, thereby helping to promote economic
development and prosperity, and representatives of these vital
commercial enterprises merit special recognition and praise for
their immeasurable contributions to the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize February 14, 2017, as Texas Aggregates
and Concrete Association Day and welcome TACA members to the State
Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
