H.R. No. 324
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Miranda Jasso, of South Middle School in Edinburg,
was crowned Miss PreTeen Galaxy International 2017 in Orlando,
Florida, on August 14, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Before achieving this impressive honor, Miranda won
the state Miss PreTeen Galaxy title at the Texas Galaxy Pageant,
held in Edinburg on May 28, 2016; she then advanced to the
international pageant, where she outscored contestants from around
the world in four categories: personal interview, photogenic,
fashion wear, and evening gown; and
WHEREAS, A sixth-grader at South Middle School, Miranda
participates in Junior FFA, University Interscholastic League Oral
Reading, and theater; in her spare time, she enjoys performing
community service, baking, and reading; she is the beloved daughter
of Homer and Belinda Jasso, and she has two brothers, Marco and
Matthew; and
WHEREAS, Miranda Jasso has demonstrated exemplary dedication
in pursuing her goals, and she is a source of great pride for her
loved ones, her school, and her community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Miranda Jasso on her selection as
Miss PreTeen Galaxy International 2017 and extend to her sincere
best wishes for a bright future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Miranda Jasso as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
