| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, United States Air Force veteran Kathy Endres of |

| 6 | 7 | | Woodway has been featured in the Waco Tribune-Herald as one of its |

| 7 | 8 | | Voices of Valor; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Oklahoma City, Kathy Endres graduated |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | from Alvord High School and subsequently attended Texas Woman's |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | University; she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and was |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | assigned to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and she went on |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | to complete weather observation training at Chanute AFB in Illinois |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and then transfer to Holloman AFB in New Mexico; in 1975, she was |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | deployed to Fulda, Germany, where she served for three years as a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | weather observer, studying atmospheric conditions and advising |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | helicopter pilots who flew along the Iron Curtain; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, After returning stateside, Ms. Endres was stationed |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | at Bergstrom AFB, where she completed her tour of active duty; she |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | then took advantage of the G.I. Bill to enroll at The University of |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Texas at Austin and subsequently built a successful career in |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | property management; in addition, she served in the Air Force |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Reserve for eight years and retired with the rank of staff sergeant |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | in 1991; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Endres has been supported in all her endeavors |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | by the love and encouragement of her husband of 30 years, Beau |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Crosby, and she takes tremendous pride in their three children and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | four grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Kathy Endres has fulfilled the highest ideals of the |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | United States armed forces, and her fellow citizens owe her a |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | lasting debt of gratitude; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby honor Kathy Endres for her exemplary service to |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and congratulate her |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | on being recognized as one of the Voices of Valor by the Waco |

| 35 | 36 | | Tribune-Herald; and, be it further |

| 36 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
