H.R. No. 348
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of Cherry Tree Republicans are
celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding in 2017; and
WHEREAS, In 1992, the organization was established by a group
of individuals in northwest Houston who shared a common commitment
to supporting conservative ideals and to advancing the influence of
the Republican Party; the club was formed under the leadership of
founding president Kelly Fessler, and together its charter members
chose the name Cherry Tree Republicans to represent honesty and
truthfulness; and
WHEREAS, The dedicated men and women of Cherry Tree
Republicans gather monthly to stay informed on key issues,
participate in local, state, and national GOP meetings, and work
actively for the election of Republican candidates to all levels of
government; over the years, this fine organization has counted a
number of prominent public servants and Republican Party leaders
among its ranks; and
WHEREAS, For a quarter of a century, the members of Cherry
Tree Republicans have set a commendable example of civic engagement
through their political involvement, and it is a pleasure to honor
the club on this special milestone in its history; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Cherry Tree Republicans on its 25th
anniversary and extend to all those associated with the group
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
